Thanks Lorii, I’ve never really thought about this before. There are so many challenges to maintaining a relationship that *doesn’t* have the cross-cultural factor that it’s certainly valuable to consider and have patience for the differences that are inherent in different cultures. Great advice here, as always.

  2. When I first think of cross cultural relationships, I tend to think in terms of skin color…not prejudice at all but just think of different cultures as having different physical appearances. But not true…I’m in a cross cultural replationship myself though both of us are caucasian. I’m American and he is South African and believe me, there are huge cultrual differences. And thus challenges! Great video!

Interesting points, Lorii. There is so much more we need to think about when we begin extending our relationships to other cultures, whether it is a romantic relationship, a friendship or a business relationship. Learning to understand and respect the cultural traditions and practices of other people could go a long way toward making life better for everyone.
